You’ll have seen our old mate Steve Royle on Britain’s Got Talent in 2020 when he did us all proud by making it to the live final and finishing as runner-up! This was no normal year for BGT, as obviously it was the year with no live studio audience – no easy setting for any comic – but Steve did it! Not only did he win over the four judges, he won the hearts of the nation and we can’t wait for him to join us at Wentworth Festival in 2021.
After coming to prominence in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Justin Moorhouse has gone on to become one of the UK’s best loved comedians.
Having starred on many comedy shows including Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and even a guest appearance in Coronation Street.
A regular at The Last Laugh Comedy Club in Sheffield, Justin was a huge hit at Wentworth 2019 so it was a no brainer that we were to ask him back to perform in 2020.
Make sure you’re in front of the comedy stage if you’re a fan of Justin as the crowds gather very quickly.
Susan Murray has emerged as one of the best female stand ups in the UK and was the first woman to ever MC gigs for the British Army/CSE gigs.
She has penned four successful solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival as well as performing in several comedy plays and sketches. She made her acting debut in the third series of ITV’s “The Job Lot” alongside Jo Enright and Russell Tovey.
Her versatility means that as well as corporate gigs Susan works festivals up and down the country, including Glastonbury, Reading, V and Download festivals so it’s a real thrill to welcome Susan to The Last Laugh Comedy Stage at Wentworth Festival.
Lancashire born millennial, Brennan Reece found his passion for performing at the age of 4, having no idea that comedy and making people laugh was a ‘thing’ people would employ you to do! In 2016 Brennan’s debut show Everglow was recognised for it’s heart-rending honesty and cheerful warmth saw him nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2016 Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
The success of Everglow has seen Brennan gigging all over the world, including Australia, where he went on to become nominated for Best Show at the Australian Fringe in 2016, as well as tours in New Zealand, Holland and France.
Having supported the likes of Rob Brydon and Nick Offerman, it’s safe to say Brennan knows a thing or two about making people laugh, which we guarantee he’ll do at Wentworth.
Jack Carroll first came to prominence when he appeared on Britain’s Got Talent at the age of just 14, when judge David Walliams hailed him a ‘comedy genius!’
The previous year he was the recipient of a Daily Mirror Pride Of Britain award, after gaining fame via the internet when a video of his first gig, at his parents wedding anniversary celebration, attracted 10,000 hits on YouTube.
A regular support act for Jason Manford, Jack has also starred in TV shows Ministry Of Curious Stuff on CBBC, Sky One’s Trollied and BBC 1 sitcom Big School. A Yorkshire lad through and through, we can’t wait to welcome Jack to his first Wentworth Festival for 2020.
Beth’s comedy career really took off in 2006 when she reached the final of the Funny Bones Comedian Of The Year competition, the Chortle Student Comedy Awards in 2007 and was nominated for the Best Debut at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2008.
Beth is known for performing black comedy, dealing with controversial subjects, but in a very entertaining and engaging way.
Black played the role of Helen Bears in the Channel 4 series Cucumber as well as starring alongside Peter Capaldi in series nine of Doctor Who.
No stranger to the comedy circuit in South Yorkshire, Beth Black is most certainly an act not to be missed at Wentworth 2020.
Nina Gilligan is an award winning comedian who exploded on to the comedy circuit back in 2011 and is now a regular up and down the country. Sometimes outrageous, always hilarious and with exceptional story telling skills Nina Gilligan is undoubtedly a comedy star in the making.
Having just completed her first solo show at Edinburgh Festival, to rave reviews, make sure you visit The Last Laugh Comedy Stage at this years Wentworth to check out Nina’s award-winning comedy.
Paul ‘Silky’ White has been making people laugh since 1994 with TV appearances including The Stand Up Show for the BBC, The World Stands Up on Paramount and the Comics Lounge in Australis.
Blending together his own unique mix of music and comedy, Silky deservedly earned his place in the final of the 2019 Musical Comedy Awards – almost 25 years after being nominated as a New Comedy Award Finalist by the BBC in 1995.
With great gags and great delivery, Silky’s comedy show is one not to be missed on The Last Laugh Comedy Stage at our next Wentworth Festival.
