Comedy Stage

IVAN BRACKENBURY

Star of hit BBC 1 comedy series Hospital People, inept hospital radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury is the creation of Tom Binns, a former breakfast radio host on London’s XFM as well as a comedian in his own right.

He’s also appeared on Eight Out Of Ten Cats Does Countdown, Knowing Me Knowing Yule With Alan Partridge, Friday Night Armistice and Fist Of Fun.

He created Ivan Brackenbury relatively early in his career, and the character has appeared on Radio 1, Virgin and GLR.

He is a great friend of Wentworth Music Festival and The Last Laugh Comedy Club and we can’t wait to welcome him – and his records – to our Comedy Stage in 2019.

ROB ROUSE

Most recently Rob Rouse has become famous as Bottom in Ben Elton’s hugely successful BBC sitcom Upstart Crow.

However Rob got his first big break when he won the So You Think You’re Funny competition back in 1998.

A regular on the UK comedy circuit, including sell-out shows in Edinburgh, Rob’s other TV credits include The Friday Night Project, Grown Up’s alongside Sheridan Smith and the sketch show Spoons.

Very funny, relatable and full of amazing stories Rob Rouse will be an incredible addition to the Comedy Stage this year.

NINA GILLIGAN

Award winning comedian Nina Gilligan exploded on to the comedy scene in 2011 and is now a regular on the UK circuit.

Sometimes outrageous, observational but always hilarious Nina has a personality you will instantly fall in love with.

Described on the comedy scene as a ‘bolshier Mrs Merton’ she’s not one to suffer fools lightly so watch out for a razor sharp tongue and wit.

Nina is another great friend of Wentworth Festival and we cannot wait to welcome her to the Comedy Stage in 2019.

JUSTIN MOORHOUSE

A very well-known and loved comedian and actor, Justin Moorhouse will forever be remembered for his role as Young ‘Tiger Face’ Kenny in Peter Kays Phoenix Nights.

Described on the comedy circuit as very brilliant and incredibly versatile, Justin Moorhouse is one of the funniest northern comics of all time.

He has also appeared on TV in Michael McIntyres Comedy Roadshow, Coronation Street, Celebrity Mastermind and Still Open All Hours.

His show at Wentworth Festival 2019 is certainly not to be missed!
