Last year, Scouting For Girls celebrated a decade together as a band, They played events across the country performing songs from their debut album! Since they burst onto the scene in 2007 with their unstoppable million selling debut album featuring classic tracks It’s Not About You, She’s So Lovely, Elvis Ain’t Dead, Heartbeat and James Bond, the trio have gone from strength to strength. From sold out tours to triple platinum sales, a series of hit singles all of which were inescapable radio smashes and a triumphant Greatest Hits, Scouting For Girls know that 2017 should be a special one. We are so proud that they have agreed to play at Wentworth.
Five years since first arriving in the public eye, Lucy Spraggan is at the top of her game.. After four Top 40 albums so far and several sell-out tours, it’s clear to see she has developed a truly loyal fan base, no more so than here in South Yorkshire where we claim her as one of our own. Lucy appeared on the X Factor in 2012, since then her audition video has been viewed more than 40 million times. She was also the most Googled musician of 2012, after she came off the show and immediately signed to Columbia Records. We can’t wait.
How did Go West get together? Peter Cox met Richard Drummie in 1974 and played him a demo tape. Richard liked what he heard and so began their continuing friendship and collaboration, a partnership which is still going strong. Their catalogue is the soundtrack to the eighties with We Close Our Eyes, Call Me, Don’t Look down and many, many more. King Of Wishful Thinking featured on the soundtrack of the film Pretty Woman and charted in the UK, US, Sweden, New Zealand and Australia.
Right Said Fred.In July 1991, the group released its début single, “I’m Too Sexy”, and it was an instant smash. A distinctive dance song which takes a gentle swipe at the fashion industry, it got everyone shaking their little tush on the dance floor. It was a huge hit in the United Kingdom, spending six weeks at number two in the charts behind Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You”, and three months in the Top 10. The song also went to number one in 32 countries including the United States where it topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Don’ Talk Just Kiss followed, and then Deeply Dippy and the Fairbrass brothers were cemented in as Pop Gods. Right up to the current day they remain an influence on huge stars like Taylor Swift.
Toploader. Come on. Since forming in 1997 Toploader have over two million album sales to their name and a string of top 20 hits both home and abroad. Their debut album ‘Onka’s Big Moka,‘ sold over one million copies and remained in the Top 5 of the UK album chart for over six months earning them 4 Brit Award nominations.In 2000 the single ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ became a global hit spending over a year in European Airplay Charts transforming Toploader into a household name. In 2013 the same track re-entered the Top 40 for three weekend topped the 10,000,000 hits mark on Youtube, an incredible thirteen years after it was first released, cementing it as one of the biggest songs of recent times.
Liberty X these days consist of Jessica, Kelly and Michelle. One of the first bigbands to make it through the world of TV talent shows, Liberty X went on to unleash a stream of hits. Kevin and Tony went their own ways, and now the three women are back and touring. You will have seen Michelle on The Real Full Monty, filmed in Sheffield where she joined a troop of fantastic women who bared all for breast cancer. Inspiring stuff indeed, we’re sure that you’ll give them the welcome they deserve.

LATE NIGHT LEGACY
Late Night Legacy are a high energy Rock Funk band unlike any other due to their explosive live shows. Heavily influenced by the likes of Incubus and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Late Night Legacy combine catchy, melodic rock riffs with a blazing stage presence and memorable hooks to produce a powerful, dynamic band.
Late night Legacy comprises of Ryan Kitto (vocals), Rob Orange (guitar), Kyle Metcalf (Bass) and Josh Stayman (Drums). Their shows are often compared to the high visual intensity of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, extraordinary vocal power of Rival Sons, and catchy melodic riffs reminiscent of the great Jimi Hendrix and John Frusciante.
Their crowd-pleasing, winning performance at the Battle of the Bands gained them a live gig slot at the Leeds First Direct Arena opening for Duran Duran to Industry V.I.P.s. No strangers to the festival circuit having played at last years Tramlines Festival, LIVE in Barnsley and Wigan LIVE. They were actually voted the Best Live Band at Wigan LIVE 2017. In addition to Wentworth Music Festival the band will also be appearing at this years Kendal Calling and Y Not Festival.
Originating from the suburbs of South Yorkshire, Frazer are a five-piece alternative rock band comprising of charismatic vocalist and guitarist Ashley Clarke, lead guitarist Harvey Fletcher, bassist Andrew ‘AJ’ Battey, Alex Owen on drums and Matt Marsh on keys.
Formed in late 2011 as a classic 4-piece they have become a hugely popular live act on the local Yorkshire music scene, headlining renowned venues such as The Plug, 02 Academy and The Leadmill in Sheffield. 2015 saw the band release their debut EP ‘Two Hands’ to critical acclaim.
In 2017 the guys supported McBusted and Scouting for Girls at two big shows at Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre.
TAXI FOR BOB
Taxi for Bob are an energetic three piece pop/punk band featuring Tom Jackson (Vocals/Guitar), Alex Bower (Bass/Backing Vocals) and Mattie Jones (Drums)
Taxi For Bob’s debut EP ‘Stuck In Here’ was released in February 2015, followed by endless shows across the UK from the East coast to the South-West. 2015 also saw the band support punk legends Sham 69.
After building a fanbase and following through their reputation of high-energy live shows, they released their second EP ‘Joke About It’ in April 2016, which received great praise and radio airtime. Taxi For Bob continued to gig continuously, including support slots with Louise Distras and 999, along with festival appearances at Tramlines Festival and LIVE in Barnsley.
2017 saw the release of their debut music video ‘GOING NOWHERE’ from their upcoming EP.
Now with a fanbase spreading nationwide, Taxi For Bob are about to embark on a UK headline tour.
LONG STORY SHORT
Long Story Short are a three piece from Sheffield and Rotherham comprising of Ricky (Guitars & Vocals), Matt (Bass & Vocals) and Paul (Drums)
Formed less than 12 months ago the lads have played extensively in Rotherham and Sheffield.
The boys have recently been working hard in the studios on their debut album ‘Crash Land’ which is due for release shortly. A video single for the album track, ‘My Saving Grace’ was released in January 2018.
Fireheart are a Classic Rock Band featuring Gilly Lodge on Vocals, Perry Duke on bass, Steve Clifford on guitar and Matt Townsend on drums.
If you love classic rock then this is the band for you, performing their own unique versions of songs by the likes of Journey, Whitesnake, Van Halen, Bon Jovi and many other famous rock groups.
Formed in 2015, Paisley Sundae are four mates from Barnsley; Mason Harris (Vocals/ Guitar), Josh Whitehurst (Guitar/ Backing Vocals), Henry Swift (Bass Guitar) and Owen Galloway (Drums)
Paisley Sundae released their debut single, ‘Had Someone’, in 2016 and also supported Razorlight. They have also played Tramlines Festival, WomFest and LIVE in Barnsley.
‘L.U.V’ – released on January 19 2018 – is their second official single and they will be a very welcome addition to the Unsigned Stage.
